Tribute to Detroit

I always knew I would live in many different places but I don't think Husband had the same goals. I can now say I've lived in all the time zones in the U.S. from CA, to IA, to MI. It's been really fun but I'm ready to go back to CA.

Detroit, MI has a very bad reputation and rightfully so. Many abandoned buildings, crime is still high, and if you ask the locals, they'll advise you to travel during daylight in a group. It's unfortunate because there are many beautiful parts of Detroit, like the architecture. The fist seen in the picture is a trademark of downtown. It was also shown in the famous Chrysler's Imported From Detroit commercial with Eminem (also my favorite superbowl commercial).

(picture from the internet)
"Fist of the Champion" - Detroit's monumental tribute to Joe Lewis, the heavyweight boxing champion from 1937-1949.
The thing weighs 8,000 pounds!

Sculptor: Robert Graham
Location: Jefferson Avenue at Woodward, Detroit on October 16, 1986.

My eye must have been crooked when I tried to re-draw the fist. Whateva.
